Jennifer Pershing is an American glamour and nude model. Born Jennifer Ackley on June 19, 1980, in Somers Point, New Jersey, she has also been credited as Jenn Ackley-Pershing. Playboy named her its March 2009 Playmate at 28. Her appearance came in the 2000s, as Playboy's print tradition began to share space with an expanding online presence.
Pershing has natural breasts, blue eyes and blond hair. Her measurements are 35-27-37.
Jennifer Pershing came to Los Angeles after growing up around Atlantic City, where she had already gained some early modeling experience and appeared on local casino billboards. She met filmmaker Steven J. Pershing while working at an Atlantic City casino, and the couple moved west in 2002. In California, Pershing took a job at a Clinique counter in Bloomingdale’s while continuing to look for opportunities in entertainment.
Her introduction to Playboy came through music rather than a conventional casting. Pershing was a devoted fan of 1980s hair metal and went to see Steel Panther perform at the Key Club on the Sunset Strip. During the show she was pulled onstage by the band’s singer, and a Playboy representative in the audience noticed her. Afterward, he approached Pershing about testing for the magazine.
Arny Freytag photographed her Playboy pictorial and centerfold. Pershing later said that she had been strongly influenced by The Secret and its emphasis on visualization, believing that positive thinking had helped her focus on the kind of break she wanted. The change in circumstances was abrupt: she went from working at a department-store cosmetics counter to shooting for Playboy within a remarkably short period.
Playboy quickly expanded her opportunities beyond print. Pershing appeared as herself on The Girls Next Door, took on hosting assignments and traveled internationally as part of promotional work. She visited Australia with Playboy Golf and also traveled to South Korea, Taiwan and Japan as a representative of Playboy TV, experiences that were especially significant to someone who had once doubted she would have the chance to see much of the world.
Despite the travel and nightlife associated with Playboy, Pershing described herself as strongly attached to quieter ambitions. She spoke openly about wanting a family and eventually hoped to operate her own daycare center. Family concerns were personal as well: her younger sister has autism, giving caregiving a meaningful place in her life outside modeling and entertainment.
