Carly Lauren combined modeling with a strong academic streak before Playboy became part of her career. While studying business at California State University, she continued taking modeling assignments on the side and completed her degree before fully committing to opportunities in entertainment. Lauren was particularly conscious of the assumptions that could accompany her appearance and took some satisfaction in having consistently performed well in school.
Her interest in Playboy had existed for some time, although posing for the magazine was not initially part of her plan. That changed once she decided the opportunity fit her ambitions.
