Crystal McCahill is an American actress, glamour and nude model. She was born on December 18, 1983, in River Forest, Illinois. Playboy named her its May 2009 Playmate at 25. Her appearance came in the 2000s, as Playboy's print tradition began to share space with an expanding online presence.

Crystal McCahill entered Playboy with a family connection that placed her in a rare corner of the magazine’s history. Her mother, Gale Olson, had been a Playmate decades earlier, making McCahill Playboy’s second second-generation Playmate. Olson supported her daughter’s decision enthusiastically, giving McCahill an unusually personal understanding of the experience awaiting her.
Part of McCahill’s childhood was spent in Hawaii, where she attended a Japanese school before her family returned to the Chicago area. She grew up with six siblings and began competing in beauty pageants at nine. Work came early as well: at 14 she lied about her age to secure a job at a pizza parlor. By adulthood, she had developed careers in modeling and event coordination while becoming closely associated with Chicago nightlife.
McCahill initially attracted Playboy’s attention through the magazine’s nationwide search for its 55th Anniversary Playmate. She reached the final five but did not win the anniversary title. Her involvement continued after the competition, including an encounter with Bridget Marquardt, who interviewed her for her radio show. A chance meeting with Playboy’s director of photography soon afterward provided another indication that her relationship with the magazine was not finished.

Chicago remained McCahill’s home base as hosting engagements took her to venues around the country. The work represented a reversal of her earlier experience in hospitality: after spending time working behind the bar, she was increasingly being hired as the personality hosting the evening. Family remained equally prominent in her plans, and McCahill spoke about eventually marrying and having children of her own after growing up in a household with two brothers and four sisters.
