Jordan Monroe entered Playboy through the magazine’s college-themed modeling series while representing the University of Nebraska in Girls of the Big 12 2006. Raised in Omaha after being born in Iowa, she had not followed a long progression through Playboy’s digital or promotional programs. Instead, her appearance in the collegiate pictorial attracted Hugh Hefner’s attention, and he personally identified her as a potential Playmate.
Hefner’s approval moved Monroe from the Big 12 feature to a centerfold within the same year.
