Ashley Smith Bio
Ashley Smith is an American DJ, musician, actress, and glamour model. Born Ashley Bryanne Smith on November 26, 1990, in Longview, Texas, she has also been credited as Ashley Martson. Playboy named her its November 2016 Playmate at 25. Her appearance came during Playboy's contemporary era of international and digital publishing.
Smith has natural breasts, blue eyes and blond hair. Her measurements are 32-23-34.
Ashley Smith left small-town East Texas for New York only days after graduating from high school, beginning an international modeling career while still in her teens. Her unconventional look, particularly her distinctive gap-toothed smile, helped separate her from the more standardized faces of fashion. She went on to work with houses including Balenciaga and Chanel, appear in Vogue and collaborate with photographers such as Ellen von Unwerth.
Smith’s modeling career ranged well beyond the runway. She appeared in the 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, photographed along Route 66 in an Americana setting that suited her Texas background and irreverent personality. At the same time, her interests were already pulling her toward other creative directions. She spoke about comic books, music, marine biology and nutrition, and began DJing in New York clubs rather than limiting herself to fashion assignments.
Playboy paired Smith with photographer Zoey Grossman for its November 2016 issue, where she appeared as both Playmate and cover model. Her feature belonged to Playboy’s brief non-nude period, when fashion-oriented photography and individual personality had become central to the magazine’s redesigned visual identity. Grossman’s road-trip atmosphere and relaxed styling were particularly compatible with a model whose fashion reputation had been built partly on resisting overly conventional polish.
Music and acting eventually became increasingly important to Smith. After relocating to Los Angeles, she devoted several years to acting and gravitated toward genre cinema, including the neo-noir horror film A Desert, which screened at FrightFest in the United Kingdom in 2024. She also returned to an earlier passion for music, forming the band TRASHWORLD with her friend Dani Miller and pursuing a deliberately rawer creative outlet than her fashion work had provided.
Another relocation followed in early 2025, when Smith moved across the Atlantic and made London her home. By then she was describing herself as a multidisciplinary storyteller encompassing modeling, acting and music rather than primarily as a fashion model. The move placed her closer to British stage and screen opportunities while TRASHWORLD and her independent film work continued a creative expansion that had begun years after her Zoey Grossman Playboy cover.
