Ali Michael is an American actress, webcam performer, glamour and nude model. Born Alexandra Nicole Michael on May 15, 1990, in Arlington, Texas, she has also been credited as Alexandra Michael and Alexandra Magick. Playboy named her its July 2016 Playmate at 26. Her appearance came during Playboy's contemporary era of international and digital publishing.
Michael has natural breasts, blue eyes and brown hair. Her measurements are 33-23-34.
Ali Michael entered fashion unusually young, winning the Fashion!Dallas/Kim Dawson Model Search at 15. By the following year she had signed with DNA Models and appeared in Italian Elle, and in 2007 she made her New York runway debut, opening shows for 3.1 Phillip Lim and Alice Roi. Paris soon followed, with appearances for Lanvin, Chanel, Christian Dior and Karl Lagerfeld, while W, Harper’s Bazaar and Teen Vogue added editorial credentials.
Michael’s early success also exposed her to the harsher demands of high fashion. In 2008 she was sent home from Paris Fashion Week after gaining weight while recovering from an eating disorder. Rather than conceal what had happened, she discussed anorexia, bulimia and the industry’s pressure to remain extremely thin on the Today show. She later said young women had approached her to thank her for speaking publicly about an experience shared by other models.
Her return to the runway was extensive. Michael subsequently walked for Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Fendi, Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Sonia Rykiel, Celine, John Galliano and numerous other designers across New York, London, Milan and Paris. Commercial work included SportMax, Lanvin’s Jeanne Lanvin fragrance, Anna Sui, Lord & Taylor, Gianfranco Ferré and Coach, establishing a fashion career that had survived an unusually public interruption.
Playboy photographed Michael through the lens of Jason Lee Parry for its July/August 2016 issue. Her appearance belonged to the magazine’s brief non-nude period, following the editorial change introduced earlier that year. By the time she became Miss July, Michael had spent more than a decade modeling and had experienced both the prestige of international fashion weeks and their sometimes unforgiving expectations.
Later in 2016, Michael crossed from fashion into music imagery with an appearance in the video for the xx’s “On Hold”. Directed by Alasdair McLellan and filmed in Texas, the video provided a fitting geographical connection for a model who had grown up in the state and begun her career there through the Kim Dawson competition years earlier.
