Cassandra Lynn was an American actress, glamour and nude model. Born Cassandra Lynn Jensen on August 15, 1979, in Price, Utah, she has also been credited as Cassandra Jensen, Cassandra Lynn Hensley, Cassandra Hensley, and Cassandra Lynn D'Elia. Playboy named her its February 2006 Playmate at 26. Her appearance came in the 2000s, as Playboy's print tradition began to share space with an expanding online presence.
Lynn had enhanced breasts, blue eyes and blond hair. Her measurements are 32-24-34.
Cassandra Lynn Jensen pursued an unusually independent course soon after finishing high school in Utah. A competitive diver during her school years, she moved to California at 18, trained as an aesthetician and opened a tanning salon in Newport Beach. Modeling developed alongside that business rather than preceding it, with swimwear and bikini assignments becoming her principal early work.
Beauty competitions gave Lynn additional experience in front of the camera. She reached the Top 20 in a Hawaiian Tropic contest and decided to approach Playboy, although her first audition produced no callback. Rather than abandoning the idea, she tried again. The second attempt brought her to Playboy Studio West for a test and ultimately secured the centerfold she had been pursuing.
Lynn embraced the February issue with particular enthusiasm because of her affection for Valentine’s Day and its romantic traditions. She described herself as sentimental about dinners, flowers and cards, and even singled out conversation-heart candy as a favorite. Friends called her “Butterfly,” a nickname inspired by the five butterfly tattoos she had accumulated and which became recognizable details of her Playboy photographs.
Modeling continued beyond the magazine, with Lynn taking commercial assignments for clients including Sprint and Nextel. Her interests retained much of the athletic and outdoors-oriented character of her earlier life: scuba diving and snowboarding joined the diving background she had developed as a teenager. The combination of modeling and her training as an aesthetician also reflected the entrepreneurial streak she had shown by establishing a business shortly after moving to California.
Lynn’s life ended unexpectedly on January 15, 2014, when she was found unresponsive in a bathtub at a friend’s home; she was 34. Her Playboy appearance remained closely associated with the persistence that preceded it: she had built a small business, developed a modeling career and returned for a second audition after her first attempt at the magazine was unsuccessful.
