Sara Jean Underwood is an American actress, glamour and nude model. She was born on March 26, 1984, in Portland, Oregon, and has also been credited as Sara Underwood. Playboy named her its July 2006 Playmate at 22. She was later named Playmate of the Year 2007. Her appearance came in the 2000s, as Playboy's print tradition began to share space with an expanding online presence.
Underwood has natural breasts, blue eyes and blond hair. Her measurements are 32-24-31.
Sara Jean Underwood entered Playboy almost accidentally while studying marketing at Oregon State University. She had never seriously considered modeling when she decided to audition for the magazine’s Girls of the Pac-10 pictorial in 2005. Her test impressed Playboy enough to place her on the October 2005 cover, where she appeared in body paint representing Oregon State and held a Playboy-branded football. The image became one of her most recognizable early appearances and attracted Hugh Hefner’s attention.
Hefner subsequently nominated Underwood for a Playmate test, beginning a rapid progression through the magazine. Her centerfold was among her first experiences posing nude professionally, something she later remembered as intimidating for the opening minutes of a shoot before the unfamiliarity faded.
