Her appearance came in the 2000s, as Playboy's print tradition began to share space with an expanding online presence.

Pennelope Jimenez developed her modeling and acting career alongside studies in sports medicine. Her upbringing had taken her through several places before she settled in Huntington Beach, including time in Mexico City, Garden Grove and Corona. She described her family background as a mixture of Spanish, French and Mexican heritage, with strong family connections to Ensenada.
Commercial work provided some of Jimenez’s earliest exposure. In 2000 she appeared in XFL “Cheerleader” television commercials alongside Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal and model Rachel Sterling. McDougal encouraged Jimenez to consider Playboy, giving her a personal introduction to a magazine she had not originally approached as the central goal of her modeling career.
Acting was developing at the same time. Jimenez appeared as one of Barker’s Beauties on The Price Is Right and made her film debut as a harem girl in The Scorpion King. The movie assignment included four lines, and she later admitted being extremely nervous about performing them. A successful Playboy test followed, leading to her selection for the magazine’s monthly centerfold.
Jimenez continued working steadily after Playboy. She appeared in several Playboy video productions and made television guest appearances on Spy TV and The Bold and the Beautiful. Catalogs, advertising campaigns and television commercials remained part of her modeling work, while Playboy brought her back as the September model in the 2005 Playmates at Play at the Playboy Mansion swimsuit calendar. Away from shoots and television sets, her tastes were considerably simpler than her entertainment career suggested: one of her favorite ways to spend a Friday night was staying home in comfortable clothes, ordering pizza and watching a movie.
