Marketa Janska is a Czech actress, singer, songwriter, glamour and nude model. She was born on May 24, 1981, in Most, Czechia. Playboy named her its July 2003 Playmate at 22. Her appearance came in the 2000s, as Playboy's print tradition began to share space with an expanding online presence.

Janska had already spent years modeling around Europe before Los Angeles presented a larger change of scene. Playboy’s account places the turning point in an offer to pursue modeling in California, which she accepted and followed across the Atlantic. A different side of Janska’s life emerged publicly in 2015 following a trip to Tanzania. After meeting local students, she launched the online “Desks for Kids” fundraising campaign to purchase desks and school supplies for them. It is a fitting later detail in a story that began with a young woman leaving home, traveling through Europe and taking a chance on Los Angeles: the geography kept expanding, but so did what she chose to do with it.
