Her appearance came in the 2000s, as Playboy's print tradition began to share space with an expanding online presence.

Veterinary medicine was already more than a college plan when Colleen Marie entered Playboy’s orbit. She attended Louisiana State University on a four-year scholarship and earned her veterinary doctorate in 2002, giving her an unusual professional life alongside the modeling jobs she had begun taking while still in school. Those early jobs included swimwear work, while Playboy first featured her in newsstand special editions and its Girls of the SEC 2001 pictorial.
After graduation, Marie and her sister Katie moved to Las Vegas, where she practiced at a small-animal and exotics hospital.
