Christine Williams was a British actress, glamour and nude model. She was born on January 7, 1945, in Basingstoke, United Kingdom. Playboy named her its October 1963 Playmate at 18. Her appearance came during the 1960s, as Playboy grew into a major force in American magazine publishing.
Williams had natural breasts, hazel eyes and blond hair. Her measurements are 37-26-37.
Christine Williams’s centerfold was photographed by Mario Casilli, whose controlled studio lighting and carefully composed portraits helped define Playboy’s polished early-1960s look. The session gave Williams a strong photographic showcase, but modeling proved to be only one part of her work in front of the camera.
Television soon provided additional opportunities. Williams appeared on Burke's Law and Petticoat Junction, two series associated with very different corners of 1960s American television. Those appearances extended her visibility beyond magazine photography and into the rapidly expanding world of network entertainment.
Her screen work also reached Europe with an appearance in the 1968 German production Otto und die nackte Welle. Williams continued modeling for a period while pursuing acting, giving her career a broader shape than the single Playboy pictorial for which she is most readily remembered. She was also an artist, adding a quieter creative pursuit to her work in photography and performance.
Williams died in Nevada in 2017. Her surviving public record is relatively concise, but it crosses several fields—Playboy photography, American television, European film and art. Casilli’s centerfold remains the best-known image from that career, while her later screen work shows that the magazine was not the end of the story.
