Terre Tucker

Playboy Playmate of The Month for November 1963

Terre Tucker Bio

Terre Tucker was an American Playboy Bunny, glamour model, and dancer. Born Karen Smith on October 9, 1944, in Phoenix, Arizona, she has also been credited as Terre Tucherman. Playboy named her its November 1963 Playmate at 19. Her appearance came during the 1960s, as Playboy grew into a major force in American magazine publishing.

Tucker had natural breasts, brown eyes and brown hair. Her measurements are 36-21-35.

Her centerfold was photographed by Stan Malinowski, a studio credit that places the spread squarely in the era’s polished portrait tradition. Before the camera found her, Tucker moved through a surprising variety of everyday and stage-side jobs: airline stewardess, lifeguard, salesgirl and working model, with gigs as a dancer and a stint on the floor of the Chicago Playboy Club as a Bunny. Those entries read less like a single episode than the practical curriculum vitae of a young performer learning to make work of everything that put her before an audience.

Tucker carried clearer ambitions than a simple list of jobs suggests. Contemporary notes record a desire to pursue singing and dancing—an intention that helps explain why she alternated service work and performances rather than settling into any one calling. That restlessness, professional and literal, gave her the kinds of onstage experience and poise a photographer could translate into a single frame.

The result is a compact career snapshot rather than a finished portrait: a performer with a handful of jobs, a clear performing aim, and a magazine spread by Malinowski that preserves the specific look and working habits of a 1960s aspiring entertainer.
