Amy Leigh Andrews was pursuing graduate studies in communications when Playboy became a serious part of her professional plans. Based originally in Georgia, she was working as a waitress while studying and had already set her sights on a career in broadcasting, with ambitions to become a television host or news anchor. Her interest in appearing before a camera therefore extended beyond modeling from the beginning.
Andrews first approached Playboy through an Atlanta casting call. After appearing in several Special Editions, she took the unusual step of writing directly to Holly Madison, whom she admired.
