Claire Sinclair is an American burlesque performer, social media influencer, pin-up and nude model. Born Clairissa Irene Riccio on May 25, 1991, in Los Angeles, California, she has also been credited as Claire Riccio. Playboy named her its October 2010 Playmate at 19. She was later named Playmate of the Year 2011. Her appearance came during Playboy's contemporary era of international and digital publishing.

Claire Sinclair developed her distinctive retro aesthetic years before Playboy discovered her. She began modeling at 14 and worked for companies including Angel Jeans, Scarlet Lingerie and Smooch Jeans. Vintage fashion became a particular fascination, extending from clothing and shoes to furniture and interior design, while classic pin-up imagery provided an alternative to the contemporary glamour styles surrounding her.
Artist Olivia de Berardinis supplied the crucial connection to Playboy. Sinclair visited the painter’s home after learning about her work through her father, who was an admirer, and dressed for the occasion in 1950s-inspired fashion. De Berardinis asked the 18-year-old Sinclair to pose for a painting and later introduced her to Hugh Hefner at the Playboy Mansion. Hefner requested her contact information and subsequently invited her to test for Playmate.
Playboy proved especially receptive to Sinclair’s old-Hollywood and pin-up sensibility. Her appearance recalled the visual language of Bettie Page rather than the dominant modeling trends of the period, something Sinclair herself recognized as setting her apart. Burlesque offered Sinclair a natural extension of her interest in vintage entertainment. After making a guest appearance in a Las Vegas production, she progressed to headlining a show at the Stratosphere Hotel. Her tastes away from modeling were similarly distinctive: she was an enthusiastic reader, a Stevie Nicks fan and an admirer of filmmaker John Waters, while regularly borrowing large stacks of books from the library.
Sinclair also appeared as herself on the reality series The Girls Next Door, adding television to a career that already included commercial modeling, Playboy and live performance. Her collaboration with de Berardinis remained especially significant: what began as a sitting for one of Playboy’s best-known contributing artists led directly to meeting Hefner and ultimately to Sinclair becoming both a Playmate and Playmate of the Year.
