Hiromi Oshima is a Japanese actress, glamour and nude model. She was born on January 6, 1980, in Tokyo, Japan. Playboy named her its June 2004 Playmate at 24. Her appearance came in the 2000s, as Playboy's print tradition began to share space with an expanding online presence.
Oshima has natural breasts, brown eyes and black hair. Her measurements are 34-22-34.
Hiromi Oshima encountered Playboy while vacationing in Florida, where a photographer noticed her and suggested modeling for the magazine. The possibility represented a considerable departure from the expectations she had grown up with in Tokyo. Oshima later recalled that Japan’s modeling industry would have considered her figure unsuitable for conventional fashion work, while Playboy saw precisely the potential that had been overlooked at home.
Oshima completed a communications degree and settled in Miami Beach before participating in Playboy’s 50th Anniversary Playmate Hunt. Her early work with the magazine included several newsstand Special Editions, a pictorial in the December 2003 anniversary issue and the cover of Exotic Beauties. She had never posed nude before working with Playboy and knew that the decision would challenge the expectations of her strict parents.
Her selection as a centerfold carried particular historical significance: Oshima became Playboy’s first Japanese Playmate. She subsequently developed an extensive relationship with the company, returning for additional Special Editions and appearing in several Playboy videos. She was also chosen as the January model for the 2005 Playmates at Play at the Playboy Mansion swimsuit calendar.
Oshima eventually became involved behind the camera as well. After moving to Los Angeles, she worked as a photo production coordinator for Playboy Special Editions and accumulated additional experience as a stylist and producer on magazine covers and photo shoots. Fluent in Japanese, English and Spanish, she had a useful combination of communications training and international experience for production work.
Screen appearances broadened Oshima’s entertainment credits. She appeared as herself in The Girls Next Door and the comedy The House Bunny, and had small roles in Bachelor Party 2: The Last Temptation and Race to Witch Mountain. Music audiences could also spot her in “Shake Ya Tailfeather,” the Nelly, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs and Murphy Lee video. Her work with photography ultimately operated from both directions, with Oshima progressing from a first-time model discovered on vacation to coordinating and producing shoots herself.
