Colleen Shannon is an American DJ, actress, glamour and nude model. She was born on April 14, 1978, in Pelican, Alaska, and has also been credited as The World's Sexiest DJ. Playboy named her its January 2004 Playmate at 25. Her appearance came in the 2000s, as Playboy's print tradition began to share space with an expanding online presence.

Colleen Shannon reached Playboy through one of the largest casting searches in the magazine’s history. Nearly 10,000 women applied for the distinction of becoming its 50th Anniversary Playmate, and Shannon was ultimately selected for the commemorative January 2004 issue. By then, she had already established herself as a working DJ in the Los Angeles club scene, giving her a professional identity that was independent of modeling.
Music had become a striking contrast to Shannon’s unusual childhood. She grew up in Pelican, Alaska, an isolated community of fewer than 300 residents where she remembered life without cars and even drinking powdered milk. She moved to California at 16 and attended Independence High School in El Dorado County. Los Angeles nightlife eventually provided the setting in which she developed her career behind the decks.
DJing remained Shannon’s primary passion even as Playboy dramatically expanded her visibility.
