Pilar Lastra is an American actress, glamour and nude model. She was born Pilar Monserrat Lastra on January 15, 1981, in Monterey Park, California. Playboy named her its August 2004 Playmate at 23. Her appearance came in the 2000s, as Playboy's print tradition began to share space with an expanding online presence.
Lastra has natural breasts, brown eyes and brown hair. Her measurements are 34-25-34.
Pilar Lastra came to entertainment with an unusually practical streak. Raised in central Texas in a family with limited means, she decided at 19 that she wanted to pursue acting and prepared for the move herself. She spent months rebuilding a 1990 Ford Mustang with salvaged parts, then drove more than 1,000 miles to Los Angeles to begin looking for work. Her first acting job came in a SeaWorld commercial.
Television and film appearances followed, including Days of Our Lives and Malibu Spring Break. Those early credits brought her to the attention of Playboy photo editors. Lastra had previously been uncomfortable with nude modeling, but she regarded Playboy’s approach as sufficiently polished to change her mind and accepted the opportunity to pose for the magazine.
Her centerfold expanded a career that was already moving across acting and modeling. Lastra later appeared in No Rules and Murder on the Yellow Brick Road, and she had a recurring role on NBC’s Las Vegas. She also became a case model on Deal or No Deal, giving her another regular television assignment after her Playboy appearance.
Lastra eventually stopped nude modeling but maintained a professional relationship with Playboy in other roles. She hosted The Playmate Hour on Sirius XM’s Playboy Radio and appeared in the company’s Hot Laps web series, where she test-drove new cars. The automotive theme suited someone whose move to Los Angeles had begun with rebuilding her own Mustang from discarded parts.
Writing added another outlet to Lastra’s work. Her first book, Naked Came the Summer, was serialized on Sirius XM, while Treat Me Like Your Car: A Man’s Guide to Treating a Lady presented dating advice through automotive comparisons. People magazine also named her among its 100 Most Beautiful People, making her only the second Playmate at the time to receive that distinction.
