Rachel Harris approached Playboy with an established identity as a working artist rather than a conventional modeling background. Years of painting and drawing led her to study at both California College of the Arts and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, giving her formal experience across fine art, design and fashion. She later established her own studio in downtown Los Angeles.
Large-scale abstract painting became Harris’s specialty.
