Ciara Price came to modeling from a background that was considerably more technical than glamorous. Growing up in Buxton, Maine, she developed an early fascination with computers and was the only girl in her seventh-grade computer class. She later studied communications and new media at Fitchburg State College and worked as a Verizon wireless consultant, experience that matched her enduring interest in technology, gaming and digital media.
Playboy entered her life when she was 18. A professional photographer who was also a family friend suggested submitting photographs to the magazine, and within a month Price was invited to become a Playmate. She was still relatively new to professional modeling at the time, but the opportunity quickly expanded her career and eventually led to further Playboy exposure, including magazine covers in April and September 2013.
Commercial modeling developed alongside her Playboy work. Price became associated with Victory Motorcycles and was selected for the cover of one of the company’s brochures after competing with fellow Playmates for the assignment. She also appeared in Maxim Australia and worked extensively as a promotional model, dividing her time between cities including Boston and Los Angeles while maintaining a demanding travel schedule.
Photography gradually became an important ambition of its own. Price wanted eventually to move behind the camera, open a studio and potentially continue working with Playboy in a production capacity. She believed that having experienced shoots as a model would help her make other women more comfortable on set. Away from work, she remained an enthusiastic gamer, with Mortal Kombat among her favorites, and also enjoyed physically demanding sports such as hockey and wrestling.
Charitable work connected Price back to her family and to Maine. Inspired in part by her father’s involvement with Camp Sunshine, which supports children with serious illnesses and their families, she joined other Playmates in fundraising efforts including Bunnies for the Cure and Race for the Cure. Those activities added philanthropy to a professional life already spanning technology, modeling, promotional work and photography.
