Playboy named her its March 2008 Playmate at 26. She was later named Playmate of the Year 2009. Her appearance came in the 2000s, as Playboy's print tradition began to share space with an expanding online presence.

Ida Ljungqvist entered Playboy with a background shaped by constant movement across countries and cultures.
