Serria Tawan is an American actress, author, glamour and nude model. Born Serria Tawan Bishop on September 4, 1978, in Chicago, Illinois, she has also been credited as Serria Bishop. Playboy named her its November 2002 Playmate at 24. Her appearance came in the 2000s, as Playboy's print tradition began to share space with an expanding online presence.

Serria Tawan arrived in Los Angeles with an unusually practical background for someone determined to build a career in entertainment. After growing up on Chicago’s South Side, she earned a finance degree from Bradley University and worked as a securities broker. She later joked that brokerage required its own kind of performance—“you just can’t win an Oscar for it”—but acting, rather than finance, was where she wanted to direct her energy.
That move west put her closer to television work and, eventually, Playboy. While working on the set of The Parkers, Tawan met fellow Playmate Daphnee Duplaix, and the connection helped bring her into Playboy’s orbit. Her association with the magazine continued through several Playboy videos, while modeling also expanded beyond the brand. She worked runway assignments for Guess, St. John and Frederick’s of Hollywood and appeared in print advertising for Coors, AT&T and Yahoo.
Acting became another substantial part of her professional life. Tawan appeared in films including Dangerous Invitations, Hector, Blood Money, Candy Stripers and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, while her television credits included guest appearances on Love, Inc., CSI: Miami and Everybody Hates Chris. She also appeared as herself on Family Feud and The Girls Next Door, giving her career a mix of scripted roles, modeling and personality-driven television.
Writing, however, was something she described as her deeper ambition. Tawan kept a journal with the idea that it might eventually become a book, and in 2007 she joined fellow Playmates Pennelope Jimenez and Deanna Brooks to publish The Bunny Book: How to Walk, Talk, Tease, and Please Like a Playboy Bunny. Built around their shared experiences, the project gave Tawan a way to turn the observations she had been collecting into something more lasting than another appearance before the camera.
Her interests continued to resist easy categorization. Alongside modeling, acting and writing, Tawan worked as a dating consultant and earned a blue belt in karate. That range fits the personality that emerges from her Playboy-era comments: curious, adaptable and distinctly unimpressed by material display. Finance may have been her formal education, but the career that followed was built on variety—acting when she could, writing when she had something to say, and repeatedly finding new ways to put experience to use.
