Darah Kay grew up in a small rural community in Alberta before finding her way into modeling and acting. By the time Playboy entered the picture, she had already gained experience with a varied mix of commercial assignments, modeling everything from T-shirts to bridal gowns.
Her route to Playboy came partly through inspiration from friends. Kay knew fellow Canadian models Elyse Jean and Ashleigh Rae, and seeing their work with the magazine encouraged her to pursue the opportunity herself. Photographer Cassandra Keyes ultimately photographed Kay for her Playboy debut, with her first Playboy Plus shoot taking place in December 2016.
The collaboration developed into a longer relationship with the magazine, culminating in Kay being voted Playboy’s Cybergirl of the Month for June 2018. For someone who admitted that she had not considered herself particularly popular or glamorous while growing up, the recognition represented a considerable change from her small-town beginnings.
Away from modeling, Kay describes herself as friendly, adventurous and always ready to laugh. She enjoys hiking in the mountains, spending time at the beach and going out with friends. Music is another favorite, while horror movies occupy a special place in her downtime. “I love getting scared!” she told Playboy. Acting also ranks alongside modeling among the creative pursuits she considers her talents.

From rural Alberta to professional shoots and eventually Playboy Plus, her June 2018 recognition marked a significant milestone for a model who had learned to feel increasingly at home in front of the camera.
