Kirby Griffin’s modeling career began by chance during spring break in Miami, where a model agent discovered her on South Beach. After spending a year at the University of Wisconsin, she moved more seriously into fashion work, eventually joining IMG Models in New York. Assignments took her regularly between Los Angeles, New York City and Europe, giving her professional life an international reach relatively early.
One of Griffin’s most visible assignments came with the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, where she was among 17 featured models. Her shoot took place in Zambia, placing her within one of the era’s best-known annual swimwear editions. She also worked with Victoria’s Secret and accumulated assignments spanning fashion, advertising, swimwear and editorial photography.
