A bachelor’s degree in biology gave Megan Samperi a practical fallback while she pursued creative ambitions in California. She told Playboy that she had studied hard for the degree before moving to Orange County, where her plans included acting and singing. Music was already back in the picture: she had recently picked up the acoustic guitar again after a long break.
Dirt bikes and four-wheelers were part of Samperi’s upbringing, and speed remained one of her favorite pleasures. She followed football and ice hockey, enjoyed bonfires and was learning to surf. Horseback riding had been another serious interest; she once jumped horses and spoke about the connection required between rider and animal. She was equally happy grooming horses in the barn or riding bareback.
