Kerissa Fare is an American actress, glamour and nude model. Born Keri Lynn Furman on December 31, 1976, in Orange County, California, she has also been credited as Keri Furman. Playboy named her its September 2000 Playmate at 23. Her appearance came in the 2000s, as Playboy's print tradition began to share space with an expanding online presence.
Fare has enhanced breasts, blue eyes and blond hair. Her measurements are 34-26-33.
Kerissa Fare came to modeling after a childhood in Southern California that she later described as difficult and financially strained. She grew up largely as a latchkey child and attended La Sierra High School, where she was a cheerleader and ran track before graduating in 1995. Fare also spoke openly about struggling with low self-esteem when she was younger and initially avoiding cameras rather than seeking them out.
One of her more unusual interests was competitive pool. Fare learned to take care of herself early and became confident enough around pool halls that she used a fake ID to get into one while still underage. She later traveled to Las Vegas to play in a tournament and joked that, without modeling, she might have tried to make a career as a professional pool player.
By early 2000, Fare was pursuing modeling more seriously in Southern California. Before Playboy, she had also worked as a dancer at the Gold Club in San Francisco. Marilyn Monroe was one of the figures she cited when explaining her attraction to Playboy, particularly the contrast she saw between Monroe’s sweetness and a more knowing public image. Fare’s Playboy work continued after her centerfold through several videos and newsstand special editions.
A far more serious chapter followed several years later. In 2004, Fare became involved in the criminal proceedings against Justin Helzer and his brother Glenn Helzer in connection with a five-victim murder case. Fare had been dating Glenn Helzer at the time of the killings and was called to testify in court against both brothers. Among the victims was Selina Bishop, daughter of blues guitarist Elvin Bishop.
Fare’s documented story is therefore unusually varied: high-school athletics, competitive pool, nightclub work, modeling, Playboy and later an unexpected role as a witness in a major criminal trial. Her own comments from the Playboy period emphasized self-reliance and living in the moment, themes that reflected a background in which independence developed early and confidence came only gradually.
