Jodi Ann Paterson is an Indonesian actress, glamour and nude model. She was born on July 31, 1975, in Balikpapan, Indonesia, and has also been credited as Jodi Paterson. Playboy named her its October 1999 Playmate at 24. She was later named Playmate of the Year 2000. Her appearance came during Playboy's 1990s print era, a period increasingly shaped by entertainment and celebrity culture.
Paterson has enhanced breasts, brown eyes and brown hair. Her measurements are 33-23-34.
Jodi Ann Paterson came to Playboy with an unusually strong academic and pageant background. Raised in Oregon after being born in Indonesia, she attended Thurston High School and won the Miss Oregon Teen USA title in 1994, going on to compete in the nationally televised Miss Teen USA pageant. She later enrolled at Oregon State University and graduated in 1997 with a degree in speech communication.
Her introduction to Playboy was far less planned. While visiting her best friend in Los Angeles, Paterson was encouraged to audition when Playboy’s search bus happened to be in Century City. She later admitted that she had been reluctant at first, but the spontaneous decision ultimately led to her centerfold and, the following year, to being named Playmate of the Year. She was the first Playmate of the Year to hold a college degree.
Paterson’s association with Playboy expanded through additional magazine and video work. Oregon State University appeared in both her original Playboy feature and her Playmate of the Year video, giving her college background an unusual place in the presentation of her Playboy career. She also appeared on the cover of Playboy’s 2001 Video Playmate Calendar and later joined the Dahm triplets as a commentator on VH1’s The Greatest: 100 Hottest Hotties.
Music and film provided some of her most recognizable appearances outside the magazine. The band Zebrahead wrote the song “Playmate of the Year,” with Paterson appearing in the music video and on the cover of the album of the same name. She also had a small role in Dude, Where’s My Car?, where the Zebrahead song was featured as part of the soundtrack.
Paterson later married racing driver Michael Andretti in Napa, California, in 2006. Her career had already taken her from a teenage beauty-pageant title and an Oregon State degree to Playboy, television, music videos and film, giving her a notably varied route through entertainment. The distinction of becoming the first college graduate named Playmate of the Year remains one of the clearest markers of that path.
