Julie Woodson

Playboy Playmate of The Month for April 1973

Julie Woodson Bio

Julie Woodson was an American actress, glamour and nude model. She was born Julie Clementine Woodson on July 11, 1946, in Hutchinson, Kansas. Playboy named her its April 1973 Playmate at 26. Her appearance came during Playboy's 1970s print era, when the magazine reached the height of its mass-market influence.

Woodson had natural breasts, brown eyes and black hair. Her measurements are 35-24-35.

A Kansan by birth who took her studies to Los Angeles, Woodson combined classroom discipline with a restlessly practical streak: she studied business and sociology at UCLA and then worked as an airline stewardess before turning to acting training and the camera. That sequence—college, the airlines, then acting school—gave her a compact, modern résumé rather than a single-route entry into public life.

Her screen prospects included a brush with early-1970s urban cinema. She was reportedly offered a part in the 1972 blaxploitation film Superfly but left the production when a nude sequence was requested, a decision that closed one door without ending her interest in performance. She went on to take on at least one credited screen role, appearing as Doshan in the television horror production The Bermuda Depths.

Modeling and occasional acting kept her visible for a time, but she did not remain on that track indefinitely. After several years in front of cameras and under studio lights, Woodson stepped away from the entertainment world and returned to Kansas, where she built a later career in construction. The move from modeling and television to hands-on work in her home state is an uncommon professional pivot, one that underlines a practical, workmanlike follow-through rather than a tidy celebrity arc.

Whatever the photographs and the parts may have offered—visibility, a short run on screen—Woodson’s story reads as a sequence of deliberate choices: study, travel, performance, and then a quiet re-entry to a different kind of labor and life in Kansas.
