Kata Karkkainen

Playboy Playmate of The Month for December 1988

Kata Karkkainen Bio

Kata Karkkainen is a Finnish glamour model, writer, columnist, and author. Born Minna Katariina Karkkainen on October 27, 1968, in Helinki, Finland, she has also been credited as Katariina Karkkainen and Katariina Souri. Playboy named her its December 1988 Playmate at 20. Her appearance came during Playboy's polished, high-production 1980s period.

Karkkainen has natural breasts, blue eyes and black hair. Her measurements are 35-24-35.

Fiercely independent from the start, Kata was already a national champion before stepping in front of a camera - winning Finland's Under-18 Girls Bowling Championship. She later brought that competitive spirit to the U.S. as a foreign exchange student at Stevens High School in Rapid City, South Dakota, where she joined the school's unsanctioned bowling team and left a lasting impression.

After her time as a Playboy Playmate, Kata returned to Finland and embarked on a new career - this time with pen in hand. She reinvented herself as a television scriptwriter and then as a published author, gaining acclaim for her provocative and deeply personal writing. Her intelligence, always apparent beneath her beauty, was no illusion - Kata is a proud member of Mensa, the international high IQ society.

Her creative journey has also led her into acting, with screen credits including "Samppanjaa ja vaahtokarkkeja", The "Kiss of Evil", and "The Girls of April", where her depth and artistry shined through.

Kata's personal life has been as rich and layered as her career. She has one daughter and has been married multiple times - including to musician Johnny Lee Michaels and rocker Anzi Destruction. Since 2016, she has been married to her partner Eliya Zweygbergin, embracing life and love with courage and authenticity.

From the bowling lanes of Finland to the pages of Playboy, and from bestselling books to bold, barrier-breaking love, Kata Karkkainen proves that being a Playmate isn't about fitting a mold - it's about owning your story. And hers is one hell of a read.
