Raised on a farm, she began pursuing modeling at an unusually young age—attending modeling school at 13 and building a portfolio through free shoots—then won the Modeling Association of America International competition in New York City. She accelerated her education, finished high school a year early, and was working professionally by 16.
Her route into Playboy was competitive: she applied at a Chicago casting and stood out among some 7,000 applicants.
