The destination suited her perfectly: Juniper wanted to pursue modeling while developing another passion behind the camera — filmmaking.
Her road to Playboy was just as unconventional. After her photographs gained attention on Reddit, Playboy model Emily Bloom reached out and became a friend and mentor, encouraging Juniper to attend an open casting call in Los Angeles. She took the advice in late 2018, and by May 2019 she was shooting her first pictorial for Playboy.
There was a lovely bit of symmetry to the moment. As a film student, Hope had kept the iconic Playboy Bunny poster on her wall without imagining she might one day become part of the brand herself. “I never would've imagined getting the honor to participate in this cultural icon,” she recalled. Playboy proved to be exactly the kind of creative environment she appreciated: collaborative crews, beautiful sets and enough freedom to turn a photo shoot into a little piece of visual storytelling.
Photographer Cassandra Keyes gave Juniper plenty of room to play with that instinct. One memorable pictorial cast her as a mischievously strict instructor, complete with black glasses, stockings and a ruler — classic Playboy fantasy with a cinematic wink. Hope understood how to inhabit the character rather than simply wear the costume, bringing the filmmaker’s appreciation for mood, composition and story to her work in front of the lens.
Away from Playboy, Juniper enjoys surfing, volunteering, filmmaking and playing musical instruments, while her modeling portfolio has also included work with Penthouse and Emily Bloom. Her November 2019 Muse feature caught her at exactly the right moment: newly settled in Los Angeles, building a modeling career and still thinking like a filmmaker whenever the camera turned toward her. The Bunny poster had come off the college wall and become part of her own story.
