Tailor James entered Playboy through its expanding digital platform, where a personal connection provided an unexpected opportunity. Her roommate was already a Playboy Cybergirl and brought photographs of James to one of her shoots. The introduction caught the magazine’s attention and led to James being selected as Cybergirl of the Month for January 2002.
The online feature came before the international modeling career that would make James considerably more familiar to Playboy audiences. After studying subjects including marketing and image consulting, she founded Hollywood Curves, a lingerie and shapewear company. The venture fulfilled an ambition she had expressed during her Playboy years: rather than concentrating exclusively on modeling, she wanted to build a business of her own.
