Jennifer Jackson

Playboy Playmate of The Month for April 1989

Jennifer Jackson Bio

Jennifer Jackson was an American actress, glamour and nude model. She was born Jennifer Lyn Jackson on March 21, 1969, in Cleveland, Ohio. Playboy named her its April 1989 Playmate at 20. Her appearance came during Playboy's polished, high-production 1980s period.

Jackson had natural breasts, blue eyes and red hair. Her measurements are 38-24-34.

Jackson graduated from North Olmsted High School in 1986 and went on to study business and finance at Kent State University, a detail that often surprises readers who remember her primarily from magazine pages. She brought a pragmatic background to modeling rather than the other way around.

Her centerfold was photographed by Arny Freytag, and select images from that session proved durable: outtakes resurfaced in Playboy Special Editions over the years, and she was later named one of three finalists in the magazine’s 35th‑anniversary Playmate celebration. Those recurring appearances kept a particular set of photographs — carefully lit and composed — in circulation well after the original issue.

The years after her time in front of the camera were troubled. Public records note a 2007 arrest for driving under the influence, and reporting from the period described ongoing struggles with substance abuse that she sought to address through counseling and legal intervention.

On January 22, 2010, Jackson was found dead at her Westlake, Ohio home by her husband, James Thompson; authorities listed a heroin overdose as the cause of death. She was 40. Outtakes and later reprints kept the images that made her familiar to readers visible long afterward, an archivally persistent reminder of a short, complicated life lived partly in public view.
