Luana Lani began modeling with local photographers at 18, then made a decisive move shortly after finishing high school. Before turning 19, she left Hawaii for Los Angeles to pursue modeling more seriously, trading the familiarity of Maui for the opportunities of the Southern California industry.
The gamble soon began to pay off. Lani found work in magazines and calendars, gradually building the portfolio she had moved to Los Angeles to pursue. Playboy followed, selecting her as Cybergirl of the Week for December 19, 2005. “When I found out I was going to be a Cybergirl, I grinned from ear to ear,” she recalled.
