Georgie Gee grew up in Townsville on the northern coast of Queensland, where the warm climate, outdoor lifestyle and proximity to the Great Barrier Reef suited her adventurous personality. A self-described tomboy, she spent much of her childhood outdoors in board shorts and baggy shirts, while horseback riding became one of the enduring passions of her life.
Horses eventually became part of her profession as well. Gee worked as a riding instructor, teaching students to ride stallions and developing considerable experience with dressage. Although an aunt had enjoyed a successful modeling career in the United Kingdom, Gee initially considered herself too boyish to follow the same path. That changed when she entered a modeling competition on a whim and unexpectedly won first place.
The competition opened a new direction for her, and modeling gradually became another important part of her life. Her route to Playboy began when Cassandra Keyes contacted her by email with an invitation to shoot for the magazine.
