Reed approached modeling with an unusual advantage: she understood what happened on both sides of the camera. After beginning nude modeling at 18, she developed her work as a model alongside photography, eventually combining the two into a creative practice centered on portraiture, body confidence, and the pleasure of making images people genuinely enjoy seeing of themselves.
Her relationship with Playboy began through its photographic history. Discovering Playboy: The Complete Centerfolds made a strong impression on Reed, particularly the individuality she saw across decades of models.
